ITIL as a Best Practice Procedure

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a framework (documentation) of best practice approaches intended to facilitate the delivery of high quality information technology (IT) services to any organization. This customizable framework defines how IT Service Management is applied within an organization. It also aligned with the international standard BS15000 / ISO 20000. ITIL® means Information Technology (IT) alignment with the business.

Best Practice is a business function, process, or system that is considered superior to all other known methods. It is a documented strategy or an approach used by competitive, and profitable organizations to improve performance and efficiency in a specific area. Successfully identifying and applying best practices can save money, eliminate redundancy, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
